The Netflix unique short narrative, set to make a big appearance at the Toronto Film Festival this week, is set in Aleppo, Syria and Turkey in mid 2016. As the brutality strengthens, The White Helmets takes after three volunteer salvage specialists as they put everything hanging in the balance to spare regular citizens influenced by the war, at the same time wracked with stress over the wellbeing of their own friends and family.
